           We are thrilled to share that we are handling an exciting new recovery case! A yacht insured by our client was involved in an unfortunate collision with a fishing boat while anchored in the stunning waters of Aruba.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           After the incident, local surveyors conducted a swift and thorough assessment of the damage. The yacht was then transported to Colombia, where repairs were carried out efficiently and cost-effectively.
          &#xD;

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            Recently, we embarked on yet another exciting survey assignment from one of our valued clients. This time around, we encountered water in the cargo hold of a pusher barge - a less than ideal scenario for the cargo of calcined petroleum coke! The adventure really kicked off when, during various inspections and repairs, we found a crack of 800 mm and a hole of 20 mm. &amp;#55357;&amp;#56881;
            &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        
            But no worries, our dedicated survey team responded quickly and expertly, providing advice to manage the situation and prevent further damage.
            &#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        
            Additionally, at the request of our clients, our claims and recovery team has been tasked with closely monitoring statutory limitations and undertaking further recovery steps. Our team - acting on behalf of the charterer - successfully managed to deflect the cargo owner’s claim, redirecting it to the barge owner.
            &#xD;

            This experience underscores the importance of being alert and ready to respond to the unpredictable elements of maritime transport!

           Michael Blonk, Managing Director of Context, explained that they frequently received inquiries from their clients about whether they handled marine/cargo insurance claims. To avoid turning clients away, they had already been collaborating with Interlloyd Averij on occasion in recent years. Their experiences with Interlloyd Averij were positive, and the two companies shared a similar approach. The decision to partner was also influenced by Interlloyd Averij's strong international network.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           Bert van Riessen, Director of Interlloyd Averij, stated that aside from complementing each other's specialties, the philosophies and approaches of both companies aligned closely, making a closer collaboration a logical step. The goal of their partnership is to provide the market with a new multidisciplinary player in the field of expertise. Interlloyd Averij will focus on the transport sector, in which they have over 200 years of expertise. Context will contribute their technical expertise.

           By combining the strengths of Context, Interlloyd Averij, and previously Lindesk, they have created an organization capable of offering existing and new clients a broader range of services. The collaboration is based on equality, with no additional fees for each other's services. Context and Interlloyd Averij thus become comprehensive players in the field of insurance expertise and can handle all types of claims except for automotive.

           RCP&amp;amp;RB and Interlloyd Averij are very pleased to announce that an agreement has been reached for the acquisition of the recovery activities of RCP&amp;amp;RB and the 2 employees.

           As of June 1, 2021, Remy Rovers and Valbona Islamoski will continue their recovery activities at Interlloyd Averij. Remy brings 36 years of work experience and Valbona 3 years, after completing her Master's degree in Maritime &amp;amp; Transport Law at Erasmus University.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Remy and Valbona mainly serve the transport insurers and brokers on the Dutch and Belgian market and thereby strengthen Interlloyd Averij, who perform survey, claims and recovery activities for the worldwide transport insurance market.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           We see this bundling of knowledge as a logical step to continue to serve the clients of Interlloyd and RCP&amp;amp;RB professionally, now and in the future.

These demands are not always so obvious for surveyors in some parts of the world, often due to cultural differences.

           By the way, we all admire Huib’s daily work ethic and his unconditional dedication to the company. He is a great inspirer for all of us and we don’t like to see him retire next year.

            regarding theft and missing cargoes during transport and storage. These cases are often about electronics disappearing under mysterious circumstances, or just in a brutal manner”.
           &#xD;

            When asked which trends can be recognized nowadays, Bert explains: “The pressure on logistic service providers increases tremendously.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Faster
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            ,
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           cheaper
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            and the use of
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           electronical data

            traffic. This will all lead to saving costs for the supplier, but it will also
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;

           increase the risks

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            . If a supplier wants the best service for the cheapest price, there is a serious risk that a logistic service provider will accept the demands without being able (or willing) to meet them.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           For example, he will use a tilt instead of a more expensive box trailer, or he will ship electronics as consolidated cargo instead of as direct freight

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            or leaked, with theft as a consequence.”
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Again, the role of the

           Some interesting cases
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/h3&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           It may be obvious that the cases that are handled by Interlloyd are not just the average cases. Over the years Bert has experienced at first hand that the world of a surveyor is full of surprises and interesting situations. He explains:” During a theft investigation, I once found myself in a rather peculiar situation in Eastern Europe. In this particular case it was impossible for me to receive any useful information from the police and authorities. The power of the claimant, who was an entrepreneur with national fame, became very clear that night. He went to the police by himself to ask for the required information. With his reputation, he got the information I needed and together with his security team he came to deliver this to me in a restaurant that night, not in the last place to the big surprise of the waiters and other visitors. It was a special experience I will never forget.”
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

            Another extraordinary case. Bert tells: “Our oldest and still pending file is the one of the
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;a href="/hms-lutine"&gt;&#xD;
      
           HMS LUTINE
          &#xD;
    &lt;/a&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            . This frigate sunk for the Dutch coast near Terschelling in 1799. She transported
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           gold
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            , insured for a substantial amount at Lloyds in London. Ever since, attempts are being made to localize and salvage the gold. With Lloyds being the rightful owners, this may only happen under strict conditions and supervision of the Lloyd’s Agent:
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

           ! By the way, the bell of the Lutine was found long ago and is installed in the Lloyds building in London. In the old days, the bell was rung if a vessel had sunk somewhere in the world, as a sign of another loss and catastrophy."

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

           The future
